NFL Fans: It’s Time to Show Your Team Spirit!

Team spirit is defined as an overall spirit of camaraderie that a group of people who wish success on a specific team will show. Team spirit can definitely be found within NFL fans at football games, playoffs and the super bowl. Being a true fan to some NFL fanatics mean more than just wearing team jerseys or waving a foam finger in the air. A fan might go above and beyond simply sporting colors and might decorate their vehicles, paint their faces and throw house and tailgate parties.

Different Ways to Show Team Spirit

There are many different ways in which someone will show their favorite NFL team that they are routing for the win. You can often see exuberant football fanatics wearing their team’s colors with either painted faces or multiple people lined up with letters on their clothes or body that spell out the team name.  Support for the team can be done on the sidelines, similar to what cheerleaders do and from the stands of an NFL game. Cheering or screaming and yelling can motivate team members and encourage them to do well. Showing spirit by way of cheering will also get more of the crowd to join in which is why doing the “wave” is such a popular way of showing spirit.

For some people who chose to watch the NFL game on television instead sitting at an arena, can show that they have dedication for the sport as well as the team by immersing in an NFL experience. Occasionally, some people will throw an all-out party which includes themed NFL snacks, food, drinks and donning NFL attire. Team spirit involves multiple people therefore when throwing a party at home it can involve inviting friends over to join in with the festivities. Make sure to tell them to wear their teams colors, jerseys and game hats!

Another way that people show their team some much deserved appreciation is by having a tailgate party either out in a parking lot where the game is held or in their own neighborhoods. These specific parties are common among fans. People will stand around chanting for their teams while cooking or barbeque being grilled from the tailgate of a truck or car. Tailgating will often times allow for more people to join in on the action of supporting a team that is playing and it is easy to see who backs the same team that you do and who are for the opponents.

The ever popular way to show sport enthusiasm is by wearing NFL team gear. Wearing jerseys, team colors, hats, jackets, t-shirts and more can all show that you are included in the spirit of your specific football team. Parents of children will often include them as well in wearing NFL outfits, socks and other bits of clothing. Since sports apparel will come in a variety of different sizes, the fun is endless! You can purchase items at a football game where vendors sell merchandise or check out web sites online that specifically cater to the NFL crowd with souvenir gear.
