I need help with information about Panama’s Independence day?
I need some more information about panama’s november 28 independence day. I’ve looked in books and on the internet but I can’t seem to find any more information. This is what I have so far:
Panama’s Day of Independence
On November 28, 1821, Panama gained independence from Spain. Panama is now has a democratic government. This event is celebrated every year with parades and festivals. The parade usually takes place in the capital of Panama, Panama City. The parade has dancers, bands, and performers. The president usually drives with the paraders and waves to the crowd. Flags are put all over the country to show patriotism. A festival is set up with games, music, and dancing. Kids and adults dress in traditional clothes like their ancestors. Games and traditional foods are also sold to commemorate Independence Day.
I need enough information to make 5-6 more sentences. Any help would be appreciated.
I don’t know where exactly you pulled the information from but the parade for this date does not take place in Panama City, although it could. Generally it is carried out in La Chorrera, which is within the Province of Panama, where Panama City is located. Also, the President does not drive anything. They usually have a special place set up for the President, his family and other government officials to sit and watch the parade.
In regards to the date, what more information would you like? History or how it is celebrated?
I would add that in Panama, flags are put all over the country for the entire month of November since during that month we also celebrate our independence from what is now Colombia in November 3 1903 and because of Flag Day (November 4). November 10th is also commemorated since on that day in 1821 it is considered that independence from Spain was officially put in motion in the Los Santos Province.
