Tips for Picking out the Perfect New Year’s Eve Ensemble
Here are some tips on how to choose the perfect New Year’s Eve outfit imaginable.
1. Dress according to the weather. If the forecast predicts it will be below zero, it is probably best to avoid wearing your mini skirt and to sport a fashionable scarf.
2. Be festive but don’t dress over the top. You don’t want everybody to think that Lady Ga Ga is coming through the door. Keep the sparkles to a minimum but accenting your eye shadow with a diamond or two may be just the right detail to set your night off right.
3. Only wear heals if you can handle them like a pro. Chances are you will be drinking on this night, drinking a lot. If you are one to trip over bar stools and fall over curbs, you probably want to get a pair of cute flats for your feet this year. New Years bruising can be quite the bitch.
4. Let loose but don’t bare it all. It may be nice to show some skin for once but nobody wants to see half of your cleavage hanging out. And those that do are straight up pigs. You can dress provocatively on this special night but stick the subtleties. Glamour doesn’t always mean sexy legs and a showing back. A halter top or some low cut Express jeans will do just the trick.
5. Go wild on your make up. This is one of the only nights, besides Halloween, where over-doing your make up may just work out for the best. Since you’ll be partying hard all night, you want your beauty to last. Go ahead and chunk on the mascara if you have to and be sure to wear long-lasting lipstick and the most fitting blush. You definitely want to sport a small purse to reapply throughout the night as well.
6. Sport a brand new Do! New Year’s Eve is a huge celebration in which you are supposed to let your hair down and dance a little bit. Don’t wear your hair how you do everyday. Surprise everyone and spice it up with a new do. Who knows, you may even find a hairstyle that fall in love with.
The best tip I can give you is to experiment. If you are a little more conservative, show some skin. If you are known for your crazy cool outfits, go a little relaxed and try something brand new. Whatever you do make sure your hair and make up are to die for. You just don’t know who you might be kissing come midnight.
