How To Do Fundraising For Youth Cheerleading
Fundraising is an integral part of most youth sports today, and cheerleading is no exception. Whether you need money for new cheerleading uniforms or to pay for travel to youth cheerleading competitions, fundraising is always going to be a concern. Have no fear, there are hundreds of ways to make money in youth cheerleading fundraising and some of them can be quite fun. And luckily, you are working with one of the most spirited youth sports – cheerleading. Besides the great tips below, you can also find other great ideas from cheerleading communities online

Sell Products
Several companies offer special deals or discount coupons on their products for fundraising events. Some of the more popular are Pizza Hut, Jamba Juice, and Krispy Kreme. Use your cheerleading spirit to sell any or all of these products to hungry spectators and competitors alike.Another popular cheerleading fundraiser is silicon bracelets. The profit on these is close to 150% and the sales price is only $2 so they sell well. You can have them imprinted with your cheerleading squad or gym name, with mottoes, or select from a variety of ready-printed bracelets supporting favorite causes. Have your cheerleaders carry a variety and folks are likely to buy more than one.

Car Wash
Car washes are a cheerleading fundraising favorite. If you choose the right location and a sunny day, you can make a lot of money. Combine it with a bake sale, or sell Jamba Juice and Krispy Kreme donuts, and you can do two (or three!) fundraising activities at once. -
Cheer Clinics
Cheer clinics are another good source of income and a great way to recruit new cheerleaders by showing off youth cheerleading drills. These are best held in summer, although after-school clinics can be effective as well. Late summer, just before the training season starts, is a good time for a gym to get current cheerleaders psyched for competition and prospective cheerleaders jazzed to join. An exhibition at the end of the week can coincide nicely with sign-ups for the upcoming year. -
Develop a Cheerleading Web Site
People donate money and time to a cheerleading team or league because they appreciate the experience and its effects on kids, families and the community as a whole. To aid your cheerleading fundraising efforts, the more you can share those memories with everyone involved in those experiences the better. A cheerleading team and league web site where everyone can upload and share photos, communicate schedules and engage in discussions, parent coordination and the like is an extremely valuable way to both engage cheerleading sponsors and make those involved more able to coordinate fundraising and donate. Get Creative
If you have older cheerleaders, a crazy fundraiser involves pink flamingos. Get a dozen or so plastic flamingos, or some equally amusing yard art (trolls, anyone?). Late at night, set the flamingos up in someone’s yard with a sign advertising your program and a number to call. Explain that the homeowner can have the flamingos moved to the house of their choice for a donation to your cheerleading program. You might want to have three or four sets of “art” floating around at one time.
Cheerleading fundraising need not be a chore, in fact it can galvanize your cheerleading squad. There are lots of ways to make money, some fun, some tasty, and some just plain crazy. Set up a fundraising plan, get an early start, and watch your fundraising worries fly away.
